Instead of a traditional cake table we placed dainty cupcakes onto vintage dishes and filled drawers with brightly colored taffy and clusters of flowers. Behind the dessert table hung a perfectly placed sleepy tree, which served to hang candle lighting from for a romantic effect.

To design a Hawaiian wedding off the beaten path is not easy task, and Canvas and Canopy Events did it beautifully. I just can’t stop swooning over these images! The fresh color palette and vintage elements look like they were made for each other on this wedding. Photos by Honolulu wedding photographer Christie Pham, whose website is a must see for brides planning a Hawaii wedding!

From Cortnie from Canvas and Canopy Events:
Ombre hand dyed runners inspired from the couture resort collections of the Paris runways faded from bright blue, to light aqua to sea foam green and blended into the backdrop of the sparkling sea. Chandeliers swayed above the tables were also hand dyed in a palette of light blues and greens made from cotton fabric with raw edges, knotted and strung with crystals sparkling throughout. A floral crown was placed on top of each chandelier resembling a woodland fairy. Since we did not want to go the traditional Hawaiian wedding route and create chandeliers from leis of orchids- this was our softer and more custom interpretation. Each chandelier was up-lit and glowing by the time the sun started to set.

We wanted to incorporate the rest of the peacock feel in a non-literal way with the ruffles of the curtain swaying behind the soda bar, the pattern of the brocade napkins which resembled the outline of the peacock monogram, and the color palettes which consistently faded from dark to light throughout the event.

Vanessa from Lollipop Events and Designs shares how they designed the reception and more brilliant details on this beautiful Maui wedding…

The bridal bouquet made out of bleached peacock feathers added drama and high fashion flair to the brides stunning strapless gown. We incorporated the bleached peacock feathers of the bridal bouquet into the event design by placing a feather at each table setting upon a brightly colored pineapple brocade printed napkin, hand sewn with ivory fringe. Flowers were placed in various shaped mercury vessels amidst tall candelabras. Soft peach and pink peonies seemed to float above the silvery mercury vases, which contrasted off of the hand dyed aqua hued table runners.

The Diamond Willow created the custom feather bouquet and flowers were from Dellables Florist in Maui. Photos by Christie Pham Photography.

Before entering the ceremony area guests were greeted by a table draped in a soft pink couture linen covered with bubbly filled champagne glasses for guests to sip on during the ceremony. Perched next to the glasses was a sign that said “champagne kisses”.

I diiiiieeeed when the crazy talented ladies over at Lollilop Events and Designs sent over this amazing vintage inspired Hawaiian wedding they designed for their clients a few months ago. I love every single wedding they create, and was over the moon when this one landed in my inbox! The couple got married in Maui, and asked them to incorporate elements of peacocks into their special day. Photos by Christie Pham Photography.

Vanessa from Lollilop Events and Designs says:
Instead of going the traditional jewel tone route, we wanted to soften the palette and use light pastels and bleached peacock feathers for a more subdued underlying effect rather than an obvious peacock theme. The only obvious display of peacocks was visible on the monogram of the invitations and the custom printed canvas gift bags.

For the ceremony site we wanted to maintain the simplicity of the sea filled backdrop and the rustic dried out palm frond pergola. We hung clusters of tight roses dripping with unexpected strands of pearls. A crystal chandelier majestically glittered against the backdrop of the expansive ocean and setting sun. Vintage frames were propped against the rustic archway and covered with moss and flowers as an inviting entrance to the alter under which they said “I Do!” in the romantic setting of tropical perfection.

The brides’ childhood friend was kind enough to write a poem for the couple’s special day. We were so inspired by the time and love put into the poem, we asked her to send us the original handwritten copy. We then made beautiful copies onto our custom design bridal letterhead and passed out to guests in lieu of traditional programs.
