Peach and Gold Southern Wedding Ideas

We’ve been hearing so many wonderful things about one of the newest venues in Charleston, The Gadsden House. And rightfully so! Recently, this venue was gussied up with the one-of-a-kind floral design by Branch Design Studio. Using Riverland Studios as the photographer for this shoot, Whitney wove her magic and came up with the most pristine creations of ranunculus, anemones, and kumquats nestled in milk glass. Topping off the tables was the most darling printed table runner from Lulie Wallace‘s textiles. Very southern belle chic!

From the photographers, Riverland Studios: Riverland Studios is a collective of talented photographers based in Charleston, South Carolina. We recently launched a sister studio, Studio Adele, and decided to put together a local styled shoot to mentor our newest talent and get inspired for the spring wedding season. When we were brainstorming ideas we were really drawn to the notion of using only local vendors and Lulie came to mind as the main inspiration! Lulie is a local designer and artist who exemplifies contemporary Southern style. All of us here at Riverland love her gorgeous paintings – we pulled inspiration from her “tablescapes” series – and were so excited to incorporate some of her fabrics into the day.

The color palette of soft, warm neutrals and feminine aesthetic of her designs felt like the perfect compliment to the soft light in The Gadsden House. Whitney at Branch Design Studio did such an amazing job with the florals. We decided on ranunculus, anemones, kumquats (which are all around the Lowcountry right now!) among other gorgeous blooms. She also created a pretty amazing flower crown which of course we had fun shooting. We included vintage pieces of milk glass to add to the tablescape of florals and golds accented by a fabric table runner sewn from a Lulie Wallace textile. One of our amazing photographers, Amanda, also happens to be quite talented with hand lettering after taking the Parris Chic Boutique Calligraphy Workshop. She hand painted the ombre peach and gold place cards which perfectly paired with the “Iris” fabric from Lulie.

We incorporated more of the fabric by creating two backdrops using the “Iris” and “Bee” prints. This was a really striking and different way for us to make beautiful bridal portraits. Danetra with Swank Desserts created some delicious mini naked cakes adorned with fruit and floral toppings that complimented the “Chloe” table linen. By using the Lulie fabrics, we thought that it may inspire our local brides to use unique linens for their own weddings. Possibly being able to re-purpose the linens after their wedding as keepsake. To close out the day we decided to take our gorgeous models by Zero George for a little background texture and petal toss which was a fun whimsical end to our shoot!
